Coloring for Stress Relief
Best Markers, Colored Pencils and Coloring Books
I was teaching a wellness class this week for teachers and I was so happy I took a risk and ask them to color for the stress-relieving part of the class. One of the classes I couldn’t pull away from the coloring. It was so great to see the teachers, who are overwhelmed with responsibilities and caring for everyone execept themselves take time to have fun and focus on themselves and create something beautiful. I overheard some wondering what brand of markers and coloring books I was using and seemed nervous they would forget. So I thought I would share it with them and have a space for them to return to if they forget. For more from my Wellness Class click here.
I might have to buy the 96 pack of these markers. They are on the pricer side but it is so convenient with the 2 sides when coloring tiny and large areas. These work so well for Querkles because sometimes those little circles need the fine tip markers.
I use these markers for everything. I love using them for drawing and writing. I even use them when I write notes in session. Color brings out happiness in me and as silly as it seems, little bit of extra happiness matters.
I remember using these in high school art and it took years for me to recall the name of them. Thanks to the internet I was able to fine them again and I will never part from them. These colored pencils have made me a colored pencil snob. I can’t imagine using any other ones.
This color by number book is so much fun. I love that you don’t know what you are coloring in the end. It is also great for those that are not sure what colors to use. In Querkles: Animals you just have to pick 5 colors, light to dark and color the corresponding number. Check out their other books!!
I love that this isn’t really inexpensive and you can get as detailed or as broad as you like. My kids try to steal this one from me all the time.
